Schoeller Textiles Soft-Shell fabric with Nanosphere DWR from Switzerland

SOFT-SHELL | FABRIC FEATURES & CARE

Schoeller soft-shell combines a tough, abrasion-resistant exterior with a soft brushed interior, making our pants extremely durable yet comfortable enough to wear all day. The fabric also moves when you do, stretching in all four directions. Unlike most performance pants, the fabric feels substantial, like denim, and features a reinforced, no-stretch waistband.

Schoeller soft-shell features outstanding wicking, breathability, and weather resistance, keeping you cool during intense activities and protecting you from the elements. It also dries quickly and will insulate even when wet. Schoeller fabrics are manufactured according to the Bluesign system, for sustainable textile production.

Protected with NanoSphere

NanoSphere is a durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment inspired by the water-and-dirt-resistant properties of lotus leaves, which prevent dirt from adhering to their surface. Fabric fibers are coated with nano-particles, which form a three-dimensional surface that repels water, grease, dirt, and stains. Liquids roll off the surface as easily as they do off a lotus leaf.

MERINO | FABRIC FEATURES & CARE

Unmatched Sustainable Performance

Merino wool is one of the finest and most versatile fabrics in the world. Due to its natural qualities and benefits, including breathability and insulating capacity, merino wool has historically been used across different seasons with the unique ability to keep you warm in the cold yet cool and fresh in the heat.

  • BREATHABILITY - Merino wool fibers can absorb large quantities of moisture vapor and then transfer it through evaporation into the air, keeping the skin fresher and drier for a longer time.
  • TEMPERATURE REGULATION - Merino wool provides a personal “air-conditioning” system to maintain temperature regulation through its natural crimp, which creates insulating air pockets.
  • ODOR RESISTANCE - Merino wool’s breathability helps to reduce sweat and odor, keeping the wearer’s skin drier and cleaner. The fiber’s complex chemical structure locks away odor, only releasing it upon washing.
  • SOFTNESS AND FINENESS - Merino wool achieves incredibly high standards of fineness and softness, making it one of the most comfortable fibers for next-to-skin garments and performance sportswear.
  • ELASTICITY - Merino wool is naturally elastic and sheds creases, due to its unique structure and crimp: at microscopic levels, merino fibers are like coiled springs, returning to their original state when stretch and extension through wear and movement is released. This helps to maintain the garment’s shape and quality.
  • UV PROTECTION AND FIRE RESISTANCE - Merino wool offers natural protection from ultraviolet light, is fire-resistant, and stores less static in comparison with other fibers.
  • VERSATILITY - Merino wool can be used in a wide variety of lightweight fabrics and fine knits, as well as innovative applications such as lace and jersey, ideal for fine summer-weight garments.
  • DURABILITY - Merino wool is highly elastic and maintains an enduring drape and shape throughout the day and in the warmest climates.
  • SUSTAINABLE - Thunderbolt merino is sourced from certified-humane (non-mulesed or ceased-mulesed) farms in Australia and New Zealand that use sustainable farming practices, including environmentally aware processing, “land-care” revegetation, and the creation of nature corridors.
